Congress leaders in Jharkhand today hailed the appointment of Sukhdeo Bhagat as the new Pradesh Congress Committee chief.
"We are very happy and looking forward to work under his leadership. It's an appreciable move by the Congress leadership," PCC General Secretary Sailesh Sinha said here.
The 51-year-old tribal leader replaced Rajya Sabha member Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu.
After quitting from the state administrative service, he got elected as MLA on Congress ticket in 2005 from Lohardaga, but lost his seat narrowly in 2009.
