A junior engineer and a clerk were caught red-handed by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths while accepting bribe from a contractor at Chaibasa in Jharkhand today and arrested.
The two were arrested following a complaint registered with ACB by the contractor, superintendent of police Manoj Kumar said.
This was the 32nd such incident in Jharkhand since the beginning of this year, ACB sources said.

The contractor had even received the first installment of the allotted money following progress in work but the duo had been pressurising him to pay them a bribe of Rs 70,000.
They had even prepared a bill of Rs 2,30,665 for the contractor after deducting their bribe money from the actual amount. Later, they agreed to accept Rs 8000 and Rs 5000 respectively.
The ACB sleuths verified the allegations made by the contractor and on finding them to be valid arrested the two men from their office in Chaibasa while accepting the bribe.
