JSCA president faces contest for first time in 7 yrs

After a gap of seven years, Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) chief ADG Amitabh Choudhury is set to face a contest for the post of president of the state cricket body from Praveen Singh who is the DIG of Special Task Force.

The JSCA election would be held during its Annual General Meeting on May 25 at the newly constructed JSCA International stadium in Ranchi.

No nomination was withdrawn on the day of withdrawal today, electoral officer Amarendra Singh said adding that scrutiny of nomination papers would take place tomorrow.

It will be the first election after 2006 when Choudhury defeated the then Sports Minister of Jharkhand Sudesh Mahto for the post of JSCA President. He was elected unopposed in all the subsequent elections.
 

The election to the posts of Committee of Management of JSCA for the session 2013-17 will be held for the post of a President, two Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer and five committee members, Singh said.
