The Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) today felicitated 21 individuals from Ramgarh, Godda, East and West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand in recognition for creating a unique identity of their own.
Speaking on the occasion, JSPL Foundation co-chairperson Shallu Jindal said the idea to introduce 'Swayamsiddh Samman' was to recognise and nurture talent at the grassroots level.
"...The 21 awardees will become ambassadors of JSPL Foundation inspiring others and going to different areas in Jharkhand and other parts of the country to help and guide people who are in similar situations," she said.

The award has been instituted in recognition of their exemplary courage, commitment and confidence that helped them overcome adversities and create a unique identity of their own in the fields of teaching, civil contractual activities, sports and other areas, a company release said.
The co-chairman also announced the company would hire a football coach to promote the game under its sports activities.
Saying Jindal Steel and Power Limited kicks off CSR activities even before commissioning plants, Shallu Jindal said the company spent seven crore rupees in Jharkhand.
Stating that the company's dream was to contribute in the country's development, she said the company was working for women empowerment, health activities and eradication of superstitions through awareness and educational programmes.
