Power producer JSW Energy has received shareholders approval to raise a total of Rs 12,500 crore through securities and non-convertibles debentures on a private placement basis.
The company will issue securities to raise Rs 7,500 crore and debentures to generate Rs 5,000 crore in this fiscal.
"Special resolution for enabling the Board to issue securities for an aggregate amount of not exceeding Rs 7,500 crore or equivalent in any foreign currency has been passed by requisite majority," the company said in BSE filing.

According to the statement, the decision was taken through voting in the annual general meeting of the company held on July 22.
The statement also said that shareholders passed another special resolution for making offers or invitation to subscribe secured or unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures of up to Rs 5,000 crore during this fiscal on private placement basis.
Earlier, the company had said JSW Energy "may offer or invite subscription to secured/unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures on private placement basis".
Shares of the company closed at Rs 93.20 per piece, down 0.27 per cent from the previous close.
