Judge attacked in Mandsaur district; HC takes suo moto notice

Taking suo moto notice of assault on a sessions judge in Mandsaur district a few days ago, Madhya Pradesh High Court has initiated a petition against the state government and the concerned officers.

Mandsaur Additional Sessions Judge Rajvardhan Gupta was beaten up by some people after a boy was hit by his car and got injured at Sunthod village on July 23, according to the police.

A video of the incident had gone viral.

The petition would come up for hearing on August 1.

The High Court Registrar General Manohar Mamtani apprised the acting Chief Justice Rajendra Menon who decided to take up the case suo motu, a release from the High Court administration said.
