Judicial activities in Odisha were hampered today as lawyers including that of the High Court abstained from courts following a call given by Odisha State Bar Council.

Supporting the call of the Bar Council of India, the State Council decided to observe the day as All India Protest Day in protest against the proposed Advocates' (Amendment) Bill-2017 as suggested by the Law Commission of India.

Staying away from their courts, the lawyers burnt the copies of the proposed bill in front of their respective courts in protest.
