Judicial remand of rape accused extended till July 10

A court here today extended till July 10 the judicial remand of the key accused in the abduction and rape of two minor girls of a hostel in Pollachi earlier this month.

Mahila Court judge M P Subramanian extended the judicial remand of Veerasamy till July 10.

He was sent to the central prison here.

The girls, aged 10 and 11, were raped after they were taken to the terrace of an adjacent building in Pollachi, about 35 km from here, reportedly at knife point by two persons who approached them in the wee hours of June 12 asking for water.
 

Veerasamy was arrested a day after the incident. Another accused in the case is yet to be arrested.
