A two-day culturalextravaganza is being organised in Assam's Dima Hasao hill district, where one can enjoy song and dance by local residents after savouring the amazing Dimasa delicacies along with rice brew.
The 'Judima Festival' at Haflong will also showcase the scenic beauty of the hill district, home to flora and fauna and breathtaking waterfalls, on December 28-29, besides rock concert, dance performance, ballad singing, storytelling and traditional sports, the organisers said in a press release.
A unity bike rally for brotherhood and peace, Barail hill night trekking, heritage trek along a 19-km strip of an abandoned metre-gauge railway track are part of the festival.

Apart from being a symbolic celebration of the rich cultural artefacts of the district, the festival aims to initiate the idea of an alternative livelihood to the local brewers and tourism among the ethnic groups residing in the district.
Events at the festival, thus, is planned accordingly and one can savour various ethnic delicacies in the form of food, fabric and fabulous performances like traditional song, dance and sports, which provide a glimpse of life and lore of the people in the district.
Cultural tour is an added attraction for those interested in knowing about different ways of living in the lap of nature, the release said.
Haflong is the only hill station in Assam and the district of Dima Hasao having almost 90 per cent of land undulated with hills, ridges and serpentine rapids provides ample scope for adventure events.
Bendao Baiglai waterfall trekking-cum-culture walk at Sampharidisa village, sightseeing at Haflong with some breathtaking views, rock concert to be performed by three leading rock bands from the region will also be organised.
