Press Trust of India Mumbai
Alleged Laskkar-e-Toaiba operative and key plotter of 26/11 terror strikes, Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, today filed a bail application here saying that though he has been in jail for one year, the trial is yet to start.

"The respondent (state) is deliberately delaying the court proceeding and hence prolonging the trial with mala-fide intentions," said the bail application, filed by his lawyer advocate Ejaz Naqvi in the Sessions Court here.

It further says that he is innocent and has been framed up. The application will come up for hearing next week.

Jundal, a native of Beed district of Maharashtra, was deported from Saudi Arabia in June 2012.

According to Mumbai police's Crime Branch, he was one of the key conspirators of Mumbai terror attacks of November 2008 which left 166 dead and many more injured.

As per the Crime Branch's chargesheet, after fleeing Maharashtra in May 2006, Jundal entered Bangladesh and went to Pakistan.

In Maharashtra, he is also accused of involvement in 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case, 2010 German Bakery blast in Pune, and Nashik police academy attack conspiracy.
