The 'Best Athlete' of the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Jung clinched the title in the pistol event with a 8-4 victory over Pushpanjali Rana, while Bhagwat, the 2002 Commonwealth Games champion, defeated Imran Hasan Khan 10 -6, to take home the title in the air rifle event at the Shiv-Chattrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi.
The Challenger Cup involved an interesting format where the top-8 participants from both male and female categories competed in an open category, on one-on-one basis, in a fun-filled atmosphere.
Sports minsiter Ajay Maken was the guest of honour at the Championship and witness the Challengers Cup finals.
Maken congratulated Olympic medallist Gagan Narang and his Gun for Shooting Academy for promoting shooting and popularising it amongst the masses, especially the children.
"I congratulate the Gun for Glory Academy for conducting the Gun For Glory Shooting Championship. The government will support the efforts of Olympic medal winners if they want to run academies to promote sports and nurture future champions."
The sports minister also praised the Challengers Cup format for its unique concept and helping the shooters to hold their nerves in difficult conditions.

"The Challengers Cup is an interesting format. I think more and more shooters should come forward to participate in the event. It definitely helps in building confidence and getting used to the noise around the shooters."
He also said his ministry will initiate a dialogue with the concerned department of the state of Maharashtra to see how the infrastructure at Shiv-Chattrapati Sports Complex can be utilised to benefit and train over 15,000 individuals. He also applauded Pune's sports infrastructure for helping three Olympic medal winners.
