Delhi's Lt Governor Najeeb Jung today directed the municipal corporations to mount full scale efforts to check the spread of dengue.
He asked them to follow a targeted approach, based on pockets of high incidence as per previous year's experience.
Jung today reviewed the action plan for control of vector borne diseases, with special reference to dengue prevention and control at Raj Niwas with different stakeholders representing Central Government, State Government, local bodies, Delhi Police and other agencies, LG House officials said.

Hospitals belonging to central, state and local bodies were directed to report dengue cases and details of viral strains in a timely manner.
"CATS ambulances are to be used for transfer of severe Dengue affected patients to higher medical facilities free of cost whenever necessary," the official said.
Various land owning, housing and construction agencies like Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Railways were directed to adopt practices which would result in significant reduction of breeding of aedes mosquito at construction sites, parks, water bodies and other areas.
Police Department was directed to adopt source reduction measures in mal-khana of Police Stations and the beat constables to keep a watch on mosquito breeding in their respective areas and report the same to concerned municipalities.
"Jung stressed on well coordinated efforts by municipal corporations to generate awareness about prevention and cure through advertisements, radio spots, circulation of posters in all languages, particularly in schools and neighbourhoods.
"He also appealed to all citizens, who as individuals have a larger stake in prevention of breeding of mosquitoes within households and neighbourhoods, to ensure that no water stagnates," said officials.
He also appealed that they extend cooperation to MCD and Health workers who visit houses for inspections, and called for a collective effort to combat dengue.
