On the occasion of India's 69th Independence Day, Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung today described the country's Constitution as an "unparallelled" document and urged the citizens to live up to the ideals envisaged by its architects.

Jung unfurled the national flag and received the Guard of Honour at Raj Niwas here. He greeted the officers and staff present and expressed his warm wishes to all the countrymen.

Speaking on the importance of India's Constitution, Jung said, "It is an unparallelled document and we must abide by it and live up to the ideals envisaged by the architects of our great Constitution."

The LG also exhorted to renew pledge to serve the nation with greater vigour, sincerity and commitment.

"As we remember those who sacrificed their lives for our great nation, our true tribute to their memory would be to steadfastly walk in the path of righteousness," he said.
