Junior engineer held for accepting Rs 60,000 bribe

A junior engineer working at Panchayat Samiti office at Nandgaon in district was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau today for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000.

Devidas Pawar was apprehended from a hotel after he was caught by the agency when a complaint was lodged against him, the agency said in a statement.

Pawar had allegedly sought illegal gratification for extending official favour in the form of filling another valuation book for a road project for which the complainant is a contractor.
