Justin Bieber will get his own Comedy Central roast special, where the pop star will be subjected to funny insults and praises.

A roast is an event in which a person is subjected to a public presentation of comedic insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories, and heartwarming tributes as a mock counter to a toast.

The roastee is able to take the jokes in good humour and not as serious criticism or insult, and it is seen by some as a great honour to be roasted.

The channel in the past has roasted celebrities like Drew Carey, Jerry Stiller, Rob Reiner, Hugh Hefner, Chevy Chase, Denis Leary, Jeff Foxworthy, Pamela Anderson, reported Us magazine.

TV host Ryan Seacrest revealed the news yesterday. Shortly after that Bieber took to Twitter, writing, "For years I have wanted Comedy Central to roast me. They said only if I provided them with more material so for a year now I have worked hard."

"Finally after all that hard work for my 21st bday it's happening. Thanks RyanSeacrest & ComedyCentral for the announcement. Let's do it," he said.

It will be aired in March.
