Jutice can't be delivered if lawyers go on strike: Alva

Underlining the role of lawyer fraternity in ensuring implementation of laws, Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva today said justice cannot be delivered if advocates go on strike and affect work in courts.

Addressing a function at Raj Bhawan, Alva called upon the fraternity to play constructive role with responsibility.

She said that justice cannot be delivered if advocates go on strike and affect work in courts, an official statement said.

The Governor also expressed concern on large number of pending cases in court and said that there was an urgent need to fulfil the vacant position of judges in courts, it said.
 

Alva, on the occasion, felicitated retired High Court Judge I S Israni and five social activists for their contribution to the society.
