The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) party today demanded that Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta should invoke the anti-defection law to disqualify two MLAs for joining Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Raising the issue at Zero Hour, JVM-P Legislature Party leader Pradip Yadav asked the Speaker to take cognisance against Bandhu Tirkey and Chamra Linda for joining TMC yesterday.

Asking under which rule Tirkey and Linda and their parties had merged with TMC, Yadav demanded that the Speaker should disqualify them under the anti-defection act.

Tirkey's Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch and Linda's Rastriya Kalyan Pakshya merged with TMC yesterday in the presence of TMC's General Secretary and former Railway Minister Mukul Roy.

The MLAs, who now support the ruling JMM-led government, had said they would continue to support the government and would request the Speaker to allow them sit together in the Assembly.
