"Our coal-rake blockade will continue," JVM's principal general secretary and MLA Pradip Yadav told reporters even as Marandi's dharna entered the sixth day today at Pachuwara.

Asked on Marandi's earlier threat to observe Jharkhand bandh tomorrow, Yadav said, "tomorrow the party will observe economic blockade in the entire Santhal Pargana comprising seven districts, and a decision on a date for bandh will be taken."

Marandi is sitting on dharna demanding an assurance by the state on a tri-partite agreement with the state government, Panem Coal Mines and the Raj Mahal Pahar Bacchao Samiti for completion of all promised welfare projects by the company.

"Now the agreement," he says, is between the company and the samiti representing the people of nine villages, affected by coal mining."
