JVM MLA acquitted in bitumen scam

The bench of Justice R R Prasad passed the orders after the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) MLA, Satyandra Nath Tiwari, pleaded before the court that he was innocent as he had given the power of attorney of his company to another person.

The petition further informed the court that at the time of the scam the whole affairs of his Kalawati Construction Company had been looked after by another person.

Tiwari, who represents the Garwah assembly constituency, was made one of the accused in the scam, had filed the petition to quash the charges levelled against him.
