Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) MLA Nizamuddin Ansari was suspended from the party for flouting the whip when the assembly took up the matter of floor test today.
"He has been suspended for flouting the party whip. He was absent during the vote of confidence," JVM legislative party leader Pradip Yadav said.
Nizamuddin's absence reduced the opposition's vote to 37 as against the ruling alliance's 43 in the 82-member House, giving a comfortable win to the Hemant Soren government.
