"No political party or alliance has the required strength to form an alternative government in the state. In such a situation, there is no need to keep the assembly in suspended animation," Marandi, a former Jharkhand Chief Minister, told newsmen here.

Marandi said, "I will lead party leaders and meet the President of India Pranab Mukherjee by end of February in support of our demand to dissolve the assembly to pave way for fresh election in the state."

Lambasting Congress for encouraging the horse-trading in the state by keeping the assembly under suspended animation, JVM leader said Congress was well aware of the fact that it could never come to power in Jharkhand on its own.

Hence, it wanted to rule the state by proxy through President's rule, he said.
