JVVNL official caught accepting Rs 50,000 bribe

A Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JVVNL) officer was today arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, an official said.

Vikas Valmiki, posted as an account officer in Baran, was caught accepting the money from a contractor engaged by JVVNL, Rajendra Singh Gogawat, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB, said.

Valmiki had demanded a bribe of Rs one lakh to clear the bills submitted by the contractor, but they later negotiated the amount to Rs 75,000, according to Gogawat.

The contractor had filed a complaint with the ACB about the demand for bribe by Valmiki.

The ASP said a total of Rs 53,000 unaccounted money was also recovered from Valmiki's office drawyer and his home.
 

He will be produced before the Kota ACB court tomorrow.
