K Syama Raju re-elected as SIHRA President

K Syama Raju, Managing Director of Bengaluru-based Hotel Maurya was today re-elected as President of South Indian Hotels and Restaurants Association (SIHRA).

The association followed the e-voting method to elect the office bearers and Raju was elected as the President for 2015-16 during the 64th annual general meeting held here, a press release said.

Chennai-based GRT Hotels and Resorts Chief Executive Officer T Narajan was elected as the Secretary.

Raju said the Union government's move of introducing e-visa has increased the growth of tourist arrivals this year and added that the state governments have decided to promote special tourism areas like medical and religious tourism to increase occupancy of the hotel rooms.
 

"I am sure that there will be a substantial growth in the revenue to the states if proper review is done," he said.

Chennai-based New Woodlands Hotel, Managing Director K Murali Rao, Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts, Director-Projects, Subir Bhowmick, Thiruvananthapuram-based Hotel Horizon, Director, Suresh Pillai, Bengaluru-based Atria Hotel, Director, K Nagaraju were elected as Vice-Presidents.
