Kabaddi: Pune teams make winning start, CR in quarters"

Central Railway entered the quarter-finals of the Aamdar Chashak Kabaddi Tournament organised by Prabhadevi Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal and MLA Sada Sarvankar, by virtue of their second straight win in the preliminary league.

They defeated Mahindras 45-28.

Income Tax (Pune) making their debut in Mumbai, took time to measure the challenge of Union Bank of India to end comfortable winners at 41-21 after leading 28-12 at the break, a media release issued here said today.

Bombay Engineering Group (BEG), the other outfit from Pune quelled the lukewarm challenge of Bank of India 34-17.

It was a good day for the army teams as heavyweights Artillery Centre (Nashik) found Mumbai Port Trust to be an easy cannon fodder as the 43-28 score line clearly indicates, the release added.

 

Results: Central Railway beat Mahindras 45-28; Income-Tax (Pune) beat Union Bank of India 41-21; Artillery Centre Nashik beat Mumbai Port Trust 43-24 and BEG (Pune) beat Bank of India 34-17.
