Afghanistan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah could not attend 'India Afghanistan Trade and Investment Show' today due to a terrorist attack at Kabul Airport and will be now arriving tomorrow.

Afghanistan has gone through some of the worst challenges in the history, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said.

"The fact that Abdullah could not arrive today in time, and we are all relieved that he will be here tomorrow morning. In fact (the attack) is part of continued test and pressure that the country has been going through," he said.

Abdullah was scheduled to arrive New Delhi today on three-day official visit, during which he had to attend 'India Afghanistan Trade and Investment Show' here.

However, rocket attack at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul today just after NATO leader Jens Stoltenberg and US defence secretary General James Mattis landed in Afghanistan forced Abdullah to delay India visit.

During his visit, Abdullah will call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will also meet him.
