Prices of kabuli gram and other pulses surged by up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market on emergence of buying by stockists following uptick in demand from retailers.
Traders said buying by stockists, driven by pick-up in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up kabuli gram small and other pulses prices.
Fresh enquiries from dal mills also supported the uptrend, they said.
