Kaithal-Ambala highway to be four-laned: Minister

A project for the four-laning of the 96-km-long Kaithal-Ambala National Highway in Haryana has been approved by the National Highway Authority of India.

The project will cost Rs 724 crore, said Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) and Industries Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala here today.

Surjewala said Kaithal-Karnal Road in Kaithal City has been six-laned upto Pehowa Chowk at a cost of over Rs 12.40 crore.

Similarly, the six-laning of Kaithal-Kurukshetra Road in Kaithal city, six-laning of Kaithal-Ambala Pehowa Chowk Road to bypass and construction of a bypass from Kaithal-Khanauri Road to Kaithal-Jind Road have been carried out to provide better transportation facility to common people, he said.
 

He said over Rs 12.13 crore is being spent on the construction of 5 km-long bypass connecting Jind Road with Khanauri Road.
