Addressing the students of the Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology at Amhara village near Bihta township, he said the youths must draw inspiration from within and put to good use their scientific knowledge to realise the vision for a developed India by 2020.
Stating that there has been significant progress in all directions over the past 65 years since the country attained freedom, the former president said that much more was needed to to done to realise the vision of a developed India to ensure inclusive growth and integrated development.
"The youths must become 'enablers' to bring inclusive growth and integrated development for welfare of people," Kalam said in a motivational speech.
Identifying the Provision of Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA) as the mission to put in place a sustainable development system, he said that the development in villages and empowerment of the people at the grassroot level were key to sustainable development of the country.
The villages must have good infrastructure for connectivity, education, knowledge and amenities like drinking water and health care and the PURA has potential to uplift the rural areas by increasing earning capacity and prosperity of the villages, Kalam said. (more)
