Kalaunji, Jeera weaken on subdued demand

Kalaunji and jeera prices drifted by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Kalaunji fell by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 11,400-15,400 per quintal.

Jeera common and best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 11,000-11,300 and Rs 14,300-14,900 per quintal.

Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down kalaunji and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 700-850, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,400-1,430 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,630.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 720-770, cardamom (colour robin) 700-760, cardamom bold 750-770, cardamom extra (bold) 920-970 and cloves 850-925.
