Former Rajasthan Congress unit chief B D Kalla today announced he would begin an indefinite strike from January 23 to press his seven-point demand, which among others includes reopening of Bikaner Technical University and setting up of a high court bench in the Bikaner division.

"I will begin a two-day relay strike on January 21 in front of Bikaner collectorate and if no solution is offered, I will start indefinite hunger strike on January 23," Kalla told reporters here.

Kalla said he has submitted a memorandum to the chief minister in this regard but there was no positive response therefore he took the decision.

"Bikaner Technical University was closed down after nine months of operations. It should be restarted. There is a big problem of railway crossings which needs urgent attention and the government should take this issue on priority," he said.

Kalla also demanded the government expedite the work for setting up medical college in Sriganganagar and construction of roads in Bikaner north and west constituencies.

His demands also include completion of the work of Ravindra Rangmanch within four months and setting up of a high court bench in Bikaner division.
