Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today paid glowing tributes to Tamil savant and poet Kambar, saying his epic the Kamba Ramayanam 'is a treasure.'
Inaugurating the three day 52nd annual Kamban festival organised by Puducherry Kamban Kazhagam here, she said she was blessed to a part of the celebration of the festival.
"Puducherry remembers the most illustrious poet Kambar, the author of Kamba Ramayana', she later tweeted.

The Lt Governor also released a souvenir on the occasion.
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, office bearers of Kamban Kazhagam, AIADMK legislator A Anbalagan and Deputy Speaker V P Sivakolundhu were among those who spoke.
The three day programme includes analytical discussions on various features of the Ramayana.
