Kamduni gangrape and murder case accused Rafiq Islam was today sent to seven days' CID custody by a local court.
Islam was arrested yesterday from Shashan area in North 24 Parganas district, bringing the total number of those held in the case to nine, police said.
A girl was brutally gangraped and murdered at Kamduni near Barasat of North 24-Pargana district on June 7 when she was returning home after college, leading to a huge outcry.
Her body was found the next morning.
