Actress Kangana Ranaut performed the Ganga aarti at the Dashashwamedh Ghat here today as part of the poster launch event of her film "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi".
The 30-year-old actress, who will play warrior queen Rani Laxmibai in the film, arrived at the Ghat with the entire team of her movie and performed the rituals.
Donning a golden saree, which she teamed with an orange brocade blouse and traditional jewellery, Kangana not only offered her prayers but also took a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges and chanted "Har Har Mahadev".

The actress stayed at the Ghat throughout the aarti ceremony, which takes place everyday at the Dashashwamedh Ghat.
Also present were the film's director Krish, music composer Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, writers Prasoon Joshi and K Vijendra Prasad and producer Kamal Jain.
"Manikarnika" will chronicle the life and struggles of Rani Laxmibai during the fight for independence. The film will also be shot in Varanasi and release on April 27 next year.
