: Kannada film star Yash through

his Yashomarga foundation today announced supply of drinking water to 50 drought hit villages of north Karnataka.

Water will be supplied to 25 villages each from Kalaburagi and Vijayapur districts every alternate day.

In his official Facebook page, Yash has also posted pictures of people queuing near a water tanker in Kalaburagi.

Pointing out that this was the first such initiative by the foundation, Yash has called upon his industry friends and those willing to help to unite for the cause.

He said "It is not right to sit quiet, thinking itis government's responsibility. So I'm trying to do a bit that is possible from me."
 

Karnataka is reeling under "worst" drought in recent times and the government has already declared 137 taluks as "drought hit".

Government has formed four cabinet sub-committees to study the drought situation and relief works being undertaken indifferent parts of the state.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself has embarked on a state-wide review tour to assess the situation.
