Kannanthanam to inaugurate Indywood Film Carnival on Dec 1

Union minister Alphons Kannanthanam will inaugurate the third edition of Indywood Film Carnival (IFC) that will begin here from December 1.

"The third edition of Indywood Film Carnival is being organised in association with Telangana government," Telangana State Film Development Corporation (TSFDC) Chairman, P Ram Mohan Rao, told reporters.

Union Minister of State for Tourism Alphons Kannanthanam will inaugurate the four-day event. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and state Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav are likely to join the inaugural function on December 1, he said.

The IFC is expected to draw 50,000 footfalls, 5,000 trade delegations, 500 plus investors, 300 exhibitors and 2,500 plus talent from across the country, founder director of IFC, Sohan Roy, said.
 

The major categories of IFC are: All Lights India International Film Festival (ALIIFF), Indywood Film Market, Indywood Talent Hunt and Indywood Excellence Awards, he said.

As many as 130 movies from 50 countries have been shortlisted for screening in six competitions and eight non-competition categories respectively, Roy added.
