A poster campaign has been launched by the City Congress Committee against BJP MP from Kanpur Murli Manohar Joshi, targeting him over the issue of his absence from his constituency and the water problem here.

The big posters put up by Congress party members read, "Kya Kya aap inhe jaante hain? Aapne inhe kahin dekha hai? Paani ki tarah ye bhi Kanpur me kabhi kabhi aate hain (Do you know this man? Have you seen him anywhere? Like water, he too is an occasional visitor to Kanpur).

The hoardings, undersigned by Sandip Shukla, General Secretary of Kanpur City Congress Committee, state whosoever finds Joshi and brings him to Kanpur will be rewarded with a "pot full of water".

"The city people are suffering from a water shortage problem. Only a few areas get water supply and that too on an irregular basis. In this case, how can our MP understand our problem if he barely visits his constituency and spends most of his time in Delhi?

"Though the people of this city have chosen him by giving lakhs of votes but he visits only once in six months," said Har Prakash Agnihotri, city Congress President.

"We have put up these hoardings across the city, seeking his whereabouts so that people get to know the truth about him," he said.
