In a move aimed at improving the law and order situation, the city police today decided to adopt police stations.
Police officials in the capacity of SP have adopted six police stations in the city under the first phase following which officials in the capacity of DSP and Circle Officer would follow suit, Kanpur IG Ashutosh Pandey said.
The most notorious police station of Kalyanpur has been adopted by the IG himself, while Barra police station by DIG Nilabja Chaudhary, Naubasta station by SSP K S Emanuel, Kidwai Nagar station by SP (West) Harishchandra, Chakeri police by SP (East) Prabhakar Chaudhary and Maharajpur police station by SP (Rural) Anil Mishra, he said.
The officials would try to enhance the conduct of the cops under their adopted police stations besides monitoring and improving the law and order situation, Pandey added.
