A foreign delegation of police and defence officials, including those from the UK, recently visited the Kanpur Police to inspect the working of their community policing system and hi-tech control room facilities.

Apart from the United Kingdom, officials of France, Myanmmar, Bangladesh have shown interest and enquired about our community policing and hi-tech police control room, said Senior Superintendent of Police Yashavi Yadav.

He said the foreign delegation had visited the recently developed hi-tech control room in Kanpur on Wednesday last.

They were shown how physically-impaired people were trained and engaged to control road traffic in Kanpur, besides sharing how locals were nominated as Special Police Officers for gathering detailed information about any incident taking place in their locality, Yadav said.

Yadav said the delegation have sought a data presentation of the community policing system to study it further.

The SSP said the Kanpur Police was also planning to screen a documentary during intervals in all film theatres to make people aware about the Dial 100 facility.
