Kanpur sizzles, schools to be closed at 12 noon

The district administration has revised the school timings due to intense heat wave conditions in the city.

Schools will now close at 12 noon for Class I to VIII from May 4. The directive will be applicable on all primary and private schools, District Magistrate Roshan Jacob said in a statement.

Severe heat wave conditions are prevailing in the city with mercury soaring past 40 degree Celsius. The MeT department has forecast light rains.
