Beyonce is also looking forward to the prize ceremony after landing six nods, including two for Video of the Year (Love on Top and Countdown).
Other multiple nominees include Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Drake.
Brown, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Trey Songz and Usher will battle it out for Best Male R&B Artist, while Beyonce faces a challenge from Marsha Ambrosius, Mary J Blige, Melanie Fiona and Rihanna for Best Female R&B Artist.
Minaj and Brown have already been confirmed to perform at the ceremony in Los Angeles, and Frankie Beverly will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The 2012 Black Entertainment Television Awards will be handed out at the Shrine Auditorium on July 1 and actor Samuel L Jackson will host the ceremony.
