Kapas futures climb 1.96 pc on high demand

Kapas prices bounced by 1.96 per cent to Rs 912 per 20 kilos in futures trade today on increased buying by investors, driven by a firm trend at the physical markets.

Marketmen said, raising of bets by speculators in tune with a firm trend at the spot markets on rising demand, mainly led to the rise in kapas prices at futures trade here.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, kapas to be delivered in April shot up by Rs 17.50, or 1.96 per cent, to Rs 912 per 20 kilos, with a business turnover of 6,222 open lots.
