Kapas prices tumbled down by Rs 24 to Rs 948.50 per 20 kilo in future trading today following all round selling by speculators in tandem with weak physical as well as global markets sentiment.
Marketmen said slackness in demand from fibre units along with shrinking demand from cattle feed industries mainly weighed on kapas prices here future trading.
Apart from, weak export demand too dampaned the trading sentiments, they added.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange counter, kapas delivery for April month contract plunged by Rs 24, or 2.47 per cent to Rs 948.50 per 20 kg, with an open interest of 9,246 lots.
