In mixed pattern of trading, kapas prices spurted by Rs 25.50 to Rs 904 per 20 kilos in futures trade today as traders created position.
Marketmen said raising of bets by participants mainly supported the upside in February 2018 contracts.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, kapas (cotton) for delivery in February 2018 month contract shot up by Rs 25.50 or 2.90 per cent to Rs 904 per 20 kg, with a business turnover in mere one open lots.
On the other hand, far April 2018 month contract delivery succumbed to profit-booking and traded lower by Rs 2.50 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 876 per 20 kg, in an open interest of 6,463 lots.
