Karan Bhutani, who assisted filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia in 'Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster' (2011), is planning to direct a film based on Mumbai and how it has changed over the years.
"My film is based in Mumbai. It is a human drama. We are taking up a social issue. It will be a socially relevant film. It is about how Mumbai has changed over the years, it is about the issue of redevelopment. It is about how turning Mumbai into Shanghai is affecting the lives of people," Karan told PTI.
Karan does not have any specific actor in mind for the project.

If all goes well, the shooting for the project will begin from September-October this year.
The yet-to-be-titled film is likely to be backed by Dhulia. But Karan is yet to discuss the project with his mentor.
"Once I am ready with the project. I will discuss it with him. I am sure he will be a part of the film in some or the other form," Karan said.
This is not Karan's first film as a director. He is working on a film tentatively titled 'Valmiki Ki Bandook', a love story set in Chambal. However, the director was not willing to share details about the project.
