Tripta Thapar, mother of a Kargil war martyr, Captain Vijayant Thapar, today endorsed the agitation of ex-servicemen for implementation of 'One Rank-One Pension' policy and demanded the ruling BJP that it was one of its election promises.

Speaking at a function on the eve of the Independence Day celebrations here, she said, "The ex-servicemen are agitating over the issue for the last 60 days, but nobody is paying heed to their demands. I feel very sad that they have to take to the streets."

She further said that BJP had said in its poll manifesto that it would fulfil the OROP policy within hundred days of the NDA coming to power.

To a question she said, "I am very proud that I sacrificed my 22-year-old son for the country. But if we don't look after our forces properly, then in future, people would not like to join the armed forces.
