Hitting back at BJP which has been pressing for a CBI probe into IAS officer D K Ravi's mysterious death, Karnataka Food Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao today wondered how the central agency could be trusted as it "is controlled by nefarious" BJP president Amit Shah.

"If CID can't be trusted as it's controlled by Cong Govt, CBI can't be trusted as it's controlled by nefarious AmitShah &Co..Right??" he tweeted.

In a series of tweets on the issue which continued to rock the state, Rao said the matter can be handed over to CBI if some questions have remained unanswered after initial probe.

"With #DKRavi, let's first ascertain what exactly happened..& if there are unanswered questions, matter can definitely be handed over to CBI," he said.

Rubbishing reports that Ravi was transferred because of pressure from sand and real estate mafia, Rao said he was shifted from Kolar to Bengaluru at the request of his father-in-law.

"The transfer of #DKRavi from Kolar was done by CM at the request of Ravi's father-in-law to an impt position in the CM's own Finance Dept," he said.

Rao urged the people to have faith in the government. "Please, have some faith on the govt..We are not so inhuman or cruel to protect the killers of one of our finest officers.. Truth will prevail," he said as the Congress Government continued to come under attack over the death of the upright officer on March 16.

Rao also slammed former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy for addressing the media with deceased Ravi's parents in the background.

"ExCm Kumarswamy addressing a press conference with deceased #DKRavi parents in the background is height of political opportunism..Disgusting," he said.
