"There is a plan to build a Mandapam at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore here for the benefit of pilgrims coming from Karnataka. Land for the purpose has already been purchased," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the famous Meenkashi temple here, along with his family members.
Eswarappa said he had come here earlier for worship and this visit was to offer thanks to Goddess Meenakshi on becoming Deputy Chief Minister.
The Deputy Chief Minister also offered prayers at the Tirumoogar Sakarathalwar temple on the city outskrits.
