Karnataka flops in 2nd innings but pocket three points

A massive first innings lead and three points already in their pocket, Karnataka could not produce another batting splendour as they were all out for 215 in the drawn Ranji Trophy cricket match against Uttar Pradesh, here today.

Having decided not to enforce follow-on on the visitors, Karnataka resumed at eight for no loss but their batsmen could not build partnerships with only two batsmen crossing the 30-run mark.

First innings triple centurion Lokesh Rahul yet again top scored with a 43 while Karun Nair scored 31.

Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav dismissed three batsmen, including that of talented Rahul, and Amit Mishra took two wickets.
 

Chasing a 715-run target, UP were 42 for two in their second innings when fourth day's play ended.

Karanataka were already assured of three points after scoring 719/9 declared in their first innings and then bundling out Uttar Pradesh for only 220.
