The Karnataka government today agreed to release seven TMC water from its Narayanapur reservoir to Telangana in view of the water shortage in the state, Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy claimed.
Reddy today met Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru along with a delegation of Telangana Congress leaders and requested him to release 15 TMC water, a Congress release said here.
He (Reddy) said that the Chief Minister gave instructions for the release of 7 TMC water from Narayanapur reservoir and also directed the officials to speed up the works on RDS (Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme, an irrigation project).
"He thanked Siddaramaiah for accepting the request made by Congress leaders on behalf of people of Telangana," the release said.
