Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said the government would regularise the services of 23,000 daily wage employees in various departments once it receives the list of their names.

Government was eager on regularising daily wage employees, but it was delayed as it is yet to receive the list from some departments, Siddaramaiah said in the assembly.

“Once we get the list from remaining departments we will get the approval from the Finance Department and place it before the cabinet for approval,” he said in reply to opposition BJP leader Jagadish Shettar.

Raising the issue, Shettar said even after three years, the government has not regularised the daily wage employees.

About 23,000 daily wage employees were working in various state government departments and state-owned public enterprises, he said.
